INTENTION

The White AXIS Tee did not begin as a color choice.

It started with the first sketch.

At that point, there was nothing more than a black pen on a white sheet of paper. The first lines, the first proportions and the first idea of the piece came from that contrast alone. Black on white. Shape against empty space. No distraction, just form.

The white version carries that origin in the most direct way. It keeps the feeling of the blank page open, clean and unfinished until the shape gives it meaning. The surface stays quiet, but it is not empty. It gives space to the silhouette, the shoulder line and the way the fabric falls on the body.

The intention was to create a tee that feels simple at first, but not ordinary. A piece that does not need to be loud to feel considered.

AXIS was not built around decoration.

It was built around the moment where a line on paper starts becoming a garment.

FIT & PROPORTION

The fit of AXIS was built to feel wide without losing control.

With the white version, this became even more important. White shows space differently. Every edge feels more visible. The shoulder line, the width of the body and the length of the tee had to sit in a way that felt calm, not oversized for no reason.

The shoulders were dropped to create a broader frame. The body was given more room, but not so much that the piece started to collapse. The length had to be adjusted carefully, because a few centimeters can change the whole attitude of the tee.

It needed to feel relaxed, but still measured.

The goal was not to make the tee look bigger. The goal was to create a proportion that feels intentional on the body. Wide enough to have presence. Clean enough to stay wearable. Simple enough to become part of an everyday uniform.

The final fit is quiet, but it holds space.

The material had to support the shape without making the piece feel heavy in the wrong way.

A white tee can easily feel too flat if the fabric is too light. It can lose structure, become transparent, or fall without direction. For AXIS, the fabric needed enough weight to hold the silhouette, but still had to feel soft and wearable.

The surface was meant to stay clean. No unnecessary texture. No forced effect. The construction had to let the fabric speak through weight, density and fall.

On the white version, the material becomes part of the visual language. It reflects light, shows the shape more clearly and makes the balance between softness and structure more visible. The tee had to feel calm on the body, but stable enough to keep its form after movement.

The fabric was not chosen to make the piece feel complicated.

There were versions of AXIS that looked finished from the outside, but something still felt off. The white version made that even more visible. Too much detail disturbed the surface. Too little structure made the piece feel empty. The balance had to be found somewhere between silence and presence.

That was the part that took time.

Not the obvious decisions.
The small ones.

How the shoulder sits.
How the body falls.
How much space the tee leaves around the wearer.
Where simplicity stops feeling unfinished and starts feeling complete.

The packaging system is not an extra part of SHIFT LAB.

It is part of the piece.

A product should not arrive without context. It should not feel like something that was simply packed, sealed and sent away. For us, the moment of opening matters. It is the first physical contact between the customer and the world behind the garment.

Before the piece is worn, the customer should understand why it exists.

The packaging is built to slow that moment down. Every element is there to create a sense of receiving something considered not just buying clothing. The paper, the archive notes, the printed details and the way everything is placed are meant to bring the story closer to the person opening it.

Sometimes the product itself is only one part of the experience.

What matters is the reason behind it. The process behind it. The decisions that made it feel the way it feels. Many brands forget that a garment does not begin when it is delivered. It begins much earlier in the idea, in the first sketches, in the material choices, in the small corrections nobody sees.

SHIFT LAB places value on that.
